Lot 31

1860, 90¢ blue (39), rich prooflike color. Bright red grid cancel. Fresh and Fine.
Scott $10,000

A FRESH, QUITE ATTRACTIVE AND COMPLETELY SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE RARE USED 90¢ 1860.

Expertization: with 1993 P.F. certificate.

As the stamp was issued shortly before the Civil War and was demonitized when the war began, the 90¢ saw very little use. Less than 200 used examples have been certified by the PF and most are faulty.
